Democracy is a serious affairs. It is not a entertainment. It is not a reel. It is not made for fifteen seconds of outrage and a quick swipe to the next video. Democracy is the serious business of running a nation of over a billion people. It decides who eats, who studies, who gets justice, and who does not. When we treat it like content for likes and views, we insult the people who depend on it the most. Recent events is disturbing. Public debate in India must return to real questions. It must judge leaders on results, not reels. It must let opposition & institutions do their job without fear. It must accept that media will never be neutral, and that is fine. But it must reject the shouting match that passes for debate today. Because right now, both the government and the opposition are showing contempt for the very democracy they claim to serve. Why Democratic Power Turns Undemocratic

A democracy elects a government to hold power with limits. It elects an opposition to watch that power and stop its excess. This is the whole design. Yet in practice, both sides drift away from the design. The ruling side stretches its mandate. The opposition, whose entire purpose is to guard the constitution, often behaves with the same hunger for power it claims to oppose. Walkouts replace debate. Obstruction replaces scrutiny.
